Many people wish to reduce their weight, and this is a positive goal. However, setting strict deadlines such as losing weight within one month, six months, or even one year is often unrealistic. Instead, we should first understand how long it took for the weight to accumulate. Did it develop within a year, or gradually over ten years? In most cases, every kilogram is gained little by little over time. Therefore, weight loss should not be forced through unrealistic expectations. When we begin consistent training and healthy movement, weight reduction naturally becomes a side effect of improved overall health. True fitness should begin gradually, progressing step by step. It is not something that happens overnight. Fitness is a lifelong journey that requires patience, discipline, and consistency. Our first responsibility is to ensure that all the organs in our body are functioning properly. We must care for the body in a way that keeps every joint, every movement, and every system working harmoniously. When the body’s joints, hands, and feet move freely and function well, it is a sign of true health. When the body becomes healthy, balanced, and strong, weight loss will follow naturally. The goal should not simply be to lose weight, but to build a healthy body that can serve us well throughout our entire life. Do not chase weight loss. Build health, and weight loss will follow naturally. © Aasan Dharmaraj – Founder, The God’s Warrior Traditional School of Yoga & Martial Arts. All Rights Reserved.
